A stuntman is a man with special skills who duplicates the actor in dangerous scenes during the making of a film or a theater performance. The stuntman's task is to replace the actor in scenes in which the actor can not cope because of lesslower physical fitness or because of the danger of injury. It also happens that in some scenes stuntmen do not duplicate or play their characters (eg. in scenes of fights, chases, etc.). A contemporary stuntman is sometimes also an artist performing in an independent showshows and in circuses.

With the development of technology, the stunt profession
is also changeschanging. Now he has to take advantage of the new opportunities that technology gives him and takestake up challenges that once seemed unreal. At the same time, the level of stunterstunt safety is increasing, which often usesusing very expensive safeguards. Hence, stunt education and their subsequent work areis very expensive, and therefore elitist. The development of this field is driven primarily by the US film industry.
