Boko Haram is an Islamic group. The purpose of the group is to “institute Sharia”, the Islamic law. Boko Haram is basically a group that wants the power of being able to rule. This beings the reason for their attacks. Boko Haram wants to “establish an Islamic state in Nigeria.” "They have attacked Kano Nigeria, Baga, Doro Gowon, Kukawa, and Borno. The group was founded in 2002. The time range would be from around 2012 to 2015. Boko Haram is doing this mostly for political reasons, because they want control over Nigeria . Boko Haram mostly attacks “state leaders, police stations, security officers, and military barracks,. tThey also target churches, schools, bus stations, and mosques.”
