Nanotechnology will offer to the facile synthesis of metal based biocompatible nanomaterials, andwhich have been used in a wide range of potential applications including renewable energies, environmental remediation, medical diagnosis, medicine, health care, treatment, drug delivery, bio medical devices, coating, cosmetics, and wound healing. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are considered asto be metal based nanoparticles, and due to their physicochemical and biological properties, int has shown incereasedt in their usest infor wound healing has increased. AgNPs are well known for their strong antimicrobial properties,; silver based nanobiocomposites (Ag-NBC) are actively used for the treatment of chronic wounds, and this combination is playing a vital role in wound healing applications. Ag-NBC is easy to fabricate, as it possess high degree of biocompatibility and biodegradability in physiological conditions, and it can be used for different types of injuries. This review article mainly focuses on the potential role of using Ag-NBC in wound healing applications, but it also discusseds their multi-functional properties, antimicrobial activities, and the various forms of Ag-NBC available in the research platform. Moreover, it briefly recaps the recent progress and development of using Ag-NBC and their future prospects in different wound healing treatments.
