Everyone, young and old, trudged along the sidewalks, each. Each was clothed as comfortably as possible. Most people seeking comfort, waswere wearing shorts, light-weight shirts, sandals, and sunglasses. Only a few stalwart businesspeople insistinsisted upon wearing three-piece suits with long-sleeve shirts and vests. Even the gategait of these intrepid souls, eager to close lucrative business deals, was slowed by the waves of heat rising from the steamy, concrete sidewalks and molten asphalt roads. After seeing the city people struggling for comfort, I amwas glad to reach the nearest beach, where I heard radios. Blaring outcries for relief from the heat, I also saw athletes playing volleyball.
