My currentsI learn about current events I get them on a news app on my phone, that provides news from different news sourcesoutlets. When watching or reading news, I look at the headline to see if it’s something that I have an interest in or if it affects me, my family, and orand/or the world. I like to make sure that when reading or listening to a news story, I understand the information that’s being shared, lookinglook into statements that show bias, or makingand make sure it’s not fake news. I’ve always made it a habit of googling the information whenever I do hear or read the news, I google the information.

Voting is one thing citizens can do to participate in the government. Keep an open mind, do your research, and be sure that the information you gather is unbiased and truthful. Jury duty is another act of participation. Although I have never once been summoned for jury duty, I would think it takes good critical thinking skills to serve as a juror, such as taking notes, being honest, and practicing effective listening of all the evidence to form a conclusion.
