IA CPS investigator, Sharrai Benavides, spoke with Amanda Pelpon today. She stated that she has known Ms. Powell since they were in the 5th grade. Ms. Pelpon last saw the family last week, and stateid that they had a food train for dinner and lunch. She stated that the children looked happy and that Colton was back to his old self. She believes that they have enough food for the children to eat in the home, and that she has never noticed any marks or bruises on the children. Ms. Pelpon stated that no one in the home drinks alcohol or uses drugs, and that if she suspected abuse or neglect she would call CPS or law enforcement.
