''Greetings,

I am CWO5 razor2444, and this letter is an expression of
amy keen interest in attending Officer Candidate School for the August rotation. I intend to become a leader at USDF, and I know that the Officer Candidate School will undoubtedly bring this goal to manifestation. I firmly believe that I am a strong candidate due to my hardworking spirit and commitment to our wonderful establishment, whilst proving that I can take on responsibility through the standard of work I have produced. I' have always aimed for nothing less than perfection in my rating work, and this has been acknowledged due toin the praise I have received in the various command positions I obtained; first as the Executive Officer of Naval Operational Tests and Evaluations and now, as the Commanding Officer of Strategic Plans and Policy. I continuousalways go beyond the call of duty, and will prove my excellence if I am given the chance to be enrolled in the program.

To begin with, previously being a member of the Office of Foreign Affairs has considerably honed the skills I possess. More specifically, as a Foreign Affairs Officer, I have learned how to produce a proper ambassador report which requires me to create a detailed account based on foreign military intelligence; something that taught me neatness and consistency. Additionally, my term as a mentor in IPDIR has also given me the leadership experience that is essential when progressing within USDF. Assignments of mine included the oversight of personnel and counseling of mentees, most of whom advanced and became commissioned later on. These delegated tasks helped qualify me for the daily duties I will see upon achieving commission as an Officer.

I also took charge outside of my role requirements
, and happily helped others with their responsibilities when asked -, because as a leader, it is not always about talking, but listening as well. I have had, and still have, the drive to deliver quality work, even before the designated time frame, which has leads to me being selected as a ‘’Month Highly Achiever’’ twice in a row; this stimulated others to thrive which was rewarding to see. Such recognition proves that I can handle a demanding environment, where flexibility and initiative are essential, as I am very competitive with an ambition to succeed. Furthermore, I have also been accepted into the Manpower and Personnel Directorate and during my training period, I have gained valuable experience with personnel management as well as the use of the PTS system. Those are the characteristics that set me apart from many.

From the beginning of my tenure as the XO of Naval Operational Tests & Evaluations, I have picked up what I have needed to accomplish very quickly, making few errors. This clearly showcases my ability to learn fast and adapt to new roles. Moreover, apart from working around the clock with my CO to send out training requests and exam results, I have also gained invaluable leadership experience, as another important task of mine was to communicate closely with the Education Officers and oversee their workload. Mentoring a team of Education Officers is harder than it sounds, but the additional responsibility was not something that hindered me, rather it strengthened me as an individual. Being a leader in this rating has
made me recohignhlizghted the importance of working together as a collective, and trying to encourage those who may not be as confident as others.

Assuming the position of Commanding Officer within OSPP, I am tasked with discovering
new innovative ideas which will lead to our continued growth and success as a whole. On top of that, I also monitor the suggestions board and partake in projects which are designed to advance our policies and regulations. Assisting in research is not that simple, as it necessitates intellect and strategic-level thinking to get to the heart of an issue and drill for concrete solutions - that is the mindset to which this office has introduced me to. Therefore, I am able to analyze conditions objectively and form a concluding judgment; a quality that constitutes a fundamental element in becoming a successful Commissioned Officer.

First and foremost, the fact that I’ve joined a debating club in my school enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills, contributing to seminars and disputes in class. I was assessed on my presentation skills on a number of occasions and received feedback confirming that I am a confident presenter. Fortunately, these strengths are highly applicable to all areas of my work, and I have used them to my advantage to take pride in myself and always give my best shot at everything, meaning I propose to reach the top at anything I do.

''A life without a goal is like a ship without a compass''. That being so, as a Commissioned Officer, my primary focus will be to maintain a harmonious working environment and ensure all members are satisfied. To materialize this, I will be working on hosting seminars which will hopefully educate personnel, (
Ffor instexancmple, workshops teaching them how to ‘’bring out’’ the leader in them) as well as prepare them to uphold upcoming leadership positions and progress with their careers in this organization. As a result, our soldiers will no longer feel neglected and overlooked, but valued and recognized for their contributions.

Besides, I am also a very approachable person and have a friendly attitude; hence, my colleagues can be comfortable enough to seek guidance from me regarding anything that concerns them. I will then be the person that people come to for answers, instead of being the one demanding them. Even if I am engaged with in-rate obligations, I always make the time to respond promptly to all my slack and forum messages.

It is worth pointing out that in my captaincy of my school’s soccer team, not only have I learned to take the initiative to resolve situations, but also acquired decision-making skills, discipline, and competency. Consequently, I have the ability to tackle an obstacle from different perspectives and respond methodically in times of crisis. This levelheadedness in the face of stressful situations will reflect positively to my duties as an Officer when dealing with issues that arise in HQ.

Lastly, I have also received adequate experience from my enlistment in numerous Habbohotel agencies that has cultivated my professionalism and proved to be a testament to my diligent work ethic. ''
