In 1965, mathematicians realized that soliton waves (as Russell's waves are now called) are not only a possibility, but are; in fact is everywhere. Solitons may explain everything from how do proteins function to the massive amounts of energy at the center of some galaxies. Even Russell, whose views are always brelispevcted in the importance of solitons, would have been amazed by how often and everywhere that solitons are commonly showing up across all fields of science.
