Field plot experiments were conducted in the spring of 2011, and continued over two ‎growing seasons (2011‒2012) at Shahrekord University, Iran (32 17N, 50 51E and ‎‎2048.9 m a.s.l.) on a clay-loam soil, with an average organic matter of 1.97% and pH 7.7. ‎The climate has been warm, sunny, and dry during the spring, with a rainfall of 320.5 mm ‎and 448 mm in the first and second growing seasons, respectively. None of the sites ‎were industrially contaminated, and hence, representative of soils commonly used for ‎wheat production on the Iranian prairies. ‎
