Dear Dr Butchart,
It is with great pleasure that I had the opportunity to talk this afternoon with Mrs. Sabine Rakotomalala about work possibilities within The Global Partnership toin ending violence against children. She explained very well how the Partnership is increasingly developing memberships and building strategies with Pathfinder countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for the 2030 Agenda.
After my Master’s in Medical Biology from the University of Barcelona, I took part ofin different research projects, especially winth the human liver and prostate cancer at the University of Zürich and at the University Hospital of Geneva, respectively. Although I enjoyed very mucthe research very much, I became quickly interested by all the movements related with human rights promotion and health prevention worldwide, and I realised that I wanted to advance my career into this field, as I felt that my career work contribution into this would be of a great personally fulfilling.
In this context, I have been teaching basics Biology inat two schools in Geneva during this last academic year, and I pursued the Global Health and Human Right’s Program together with the Duke Global Program run by the Geneva Summer Schools thisn July 2016. Now, it is clear to me that I want to work in the field of children’s violence prevention from a global point of view. Helping tackle gaps in children’s violence, contributing into increasing the awareness to governments awareness and to every human being of the children’s rights, as well as the understanding of the impact of a lack of action at local and global levels for these children’s lives and for their community’s development, reflected worldwide, is key to ending violence against children by 2030.
I would like to be part of the Global Partnership and help toin strengthening memberships and stakeholders, protecting and endorsing good policies and services for children, and promoting laws for the eradication of violence against children worldwide.
I lookam very much looking forward to joining your team and I am available tfor further discussion of details at your convenience.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
Yours sincerely,
Eva Junyent Sallarès
