Letter to a change maker

Dear Change maker,
‘"I can’t breathe;” the last words of Eric gGarner,. "Don’t worry mMama, it’s ok, I’m here ;" the words of Philando Castile's daughter, after witnessing her father being fatally shot . "That looks like a bad dude too. He might be on something.” The words describing Terence Crutcher, minutes before being fatally shot in the back. yYou may have heard of these names, or seen them on your social media accounts. wWho are these men? wWhat importance do they have in a letter address to a change? maker aAll three of these man were murdered by police officers for something aslike selling a few cigarettes, or following directions and, or being stranded on the side of the road. None of these man had to die, but they did; and we keep letting it happen.
I am the change maker, and I vow to make a change. I vow that no mother, or wife,or sister will have to bury their father, son, or brother. I vow to remember the utter terror of watching my husband, father, or even my four old nephew leave out the house, and praying that they come back alive. There is something wrong with a system twhatere the people who are here to protect and serve us can get away with murdering people in cold blood, and on camera! and sSome of you may roll yours eyes while reading this, but let me ask you athis: As you watch these videos of men, womaen, and children being slaughtered for no apparent reason, how many times can it be theire “fault?” hHow many times can someone say "well, if they followed direction this wouldn’t happen?" Cause iIn the case of Philando Castile, he did follow directions, and still got him killed. I write this letter to myself, as a reminder when I want to give up and dig my head in the sand. tThis letter is a reminder that it won’t get better untill we stand up and take a stand. and iIt’s starts with me. I am the change maker, and you should be too.
