Our society is divided into different social classes based on one’s socioeconomic status. People are commonly classified as members of the lower class, middle class and upper class. Social class is relevant to psychology because a person’s social class eaffects how one thinks, feels and acts. Social class changes one’s perception and focus of who they are relative to other people. High class individuals carry a solipsistic sociocognitive approach. That is, they are focused on themselves, their goals, feelings and dreams.
