Warsaw is located in the center of Polishand on the Mosovian Plain. It is located on the Vistula River, the longest Polish river, which divides the city in half. The city is one of the largest in the European Union. It consists of 11eleven quarters. The city was heavily damaged during World War II, and a large part of the historic architecture was destroyed. There are still many beautiful objects canto be found in Warsaw, such as the Cathedral of St. John, The Baths or Wilanow Palace. The most recognizable piece of architecture is the Warsaw Palace of Culture and Science, the socialist building built in 1955 is the tallest building in the city, with a height of 231 meters and 42 floors. Due to its history and unique socialist looks, pthe Palace attracts a lot of resentment among some Polish citizens, but many others still recognize it as a piece of history, and a brand of Warsaw.
