As children are figuring out their sexual identity, they feel that there is no outlet for them to expresses their emotions, and thoughts.
Instead, many children experience shame; a process for excluding desires, or feeling one’s self, or others( textbook). Many children, in the process, feel trapped and unaccepted, because membothers are unable to empathize with them. It's harder for the adult to stay outaway frofm judgment, and recognize other peoples emotions, because adults try to be in control, and impose their own set of beliefs.
