Before social media, the earliest methods of communicating were letters. It wasn’t up until the 20th century when the first social media site, SixDegrees, was created in 1997. It allowed users to create a profile and friendbefriend other users. Next, it was Friendster (2002), which allowed users to contact with each other, share videos, photos, and messages, and was used as a dating site.
