Lying is the concept of telling lies, false statements, intentionally, to manipulate others into believing them. Liars, people who are not truthful and constantly lie, tend to lie to trick others or to keep specific information from another person. Consequently, it is usually viewed as a negative behavior by society. However, it is considered kind and polite to tell little white lies, harmless lying, to protect people's feelings. Furthermore, there are various forms of lying. Concealing the truth, adjusting true facts, and inventing stories that are not true, are the three most common ways of telling lies. Moreover, there are several globally known examples of lying. For instance, children often lie to their parents about washing their hands before dinner. Fictional stories, such as The Boy Who Cried and Pinocchio, teach children that it is important to be honest because lying has terrible consequences. Another example is some politicians who lie about their intentions to develop countries in order to gain votes. In conclusion, lying is an act of dishonesty to deceive people by not telling the truth. There are many types of lying, but most of them are unaccepted by the majority of society.
