Censorship is like a disease; the mentality that drives the burning books can spread like the black plague throughout society. In Fahrenheit 451, author Ray Bradbury depicts a world in which society would be a struggle. Although the book was written over fifty years ago, the society relates to today by seeing the consequences of people thatwho have less interaction with the world and theits people. Fire is a symbol of destruction such as burning books. It's also the symbol of change from the Phoenix, ready to rise from the ashes. Guy Montag is the protagonist of the novel and has experienced growth from burning a book to a knowledge seeker.
