Personal Statement:
As a lifelong learner and teacher, I have always dreamed of providing quality education for reforming the conventional teaching ideology. Eleven years ago, as a young teacher, my initial journey in education began. During my interview, I was asked about my life goals. The question surprised me
, but my answer still resonates with me today. I replied that I wanted to learn more. The more I learned, the more I felt the need to learn more.
Living in a country full of economic challenges, volunteering your free time for no financial gain is not very common, Yet, I felt that I needed the teaching experience more than the extra money. The experience that I have received through volunteering has taught me more than only a paying job could.
I have had the privilege of teaching in my cities top schools over the past ten years. My current position at Herat University has been challenging because
of my lack of a graduate degree. I believe that I would benefit from a program that cancould provide three key elements: experienced teachers from whom I can learn to apply the knowledge gained through curricular and extra-curricular activities, an open and free environment for expressing thoughts, and an encouraging environment where others are inspired to become successful leaders in their community and world.
Having completed my B
.A in public administration in 2014, I have seen the value of my degree but also the need to learn so much more. I desire to be a difference maker.
