The discovery of garment designing techniques such as: flat Patternmakingpattern making and draping has greatly impacted how clothing is worn in this modern age. Flat pattern making is a drafting technique in which a garment is created on paper in two-dimensional form, to be produced in three dimensions, while draping is a technique in which a garment is created on a dress form in three dimensions. Both techniques are similar in the creation of a garment, but the process and the types of garments in which clothing is manufactured for flat pattern making and draping are different. I will discuss the kind of markets each type of techniquestechnique are suitable for and the similarities and differences in how a garment is produced from one anotheror the other.
