• Delineated the milling operation through the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) using Microsoft Visio, and intensively performing site inspections, queries, and discussions with related personnel to attain precise information.
• Executed water footprint assessment through investigation at freshwater consumption and waste effluent areas by collectively gathering data to estimate their volume to identify possibilities to generate a water pinch network.
• Undergo attachment at UKM-YSD Pilot Plant which exposed to hands-on experience in operating membrane treatment system for palm oil mill effluent (POME).
• Participated in professional meetings to report findings as well as gaining better exposure on the milling process which consequently enhanced the execution of daily tasks.
• Built and revised PFDs based on the current mill’s practice which benefited the energy and water footprint assessment by providing a comprehensive picture of the milling process – PFDs include; “Water Treatment Plant (WTP) & Engine Room Station PFD”, “Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Station PFD” and “Palm Kernel Recovery Station PFD”.
