In this part, the trainer gave us some basic information about instrumentation and control systems. Starting with the instrumentation section, the trainer talked about the development of instrumentation, the evolution of industrial automation, types of automation, and why would we need automation and finally some applications. This has been an example of the evolution in the instrumentation field since 1980. In the control systems section, the trainer started by defining control systems and mentioning the main components and characteristics. Then, he briefly mentioned -in brief- the main types of control systems, which are feedback, ratio, and sequential control systems. After that, he explained -in details-gave a detailed explanation of the PID controller and its effects on the process and what will happen if we combine different modes of control together.
