I have learned a few things during the time I have been in English 101. One thing I have learned in English 101 isis the sentence punctuation system. The sentence punctuation system, which is a very strict system that English students must follow in order to succeed in that classlearning the language. The first part of the system is the dependent clause followed by a comma, then an independent clause and followed upending with a period. The second part is an independent clause and then followed by a dependent clause. The only difference between the first and second partparts is that the first part presentscontains a comma, but the second part has no comma in the sentence. The third part has four different sentencing rules. The first sentencing rule is an independent clause followed bywith a period and then, followed by another independent clause and then a period. The second sentencing rule is an independent clause followed by a semicolon, then an independent clause. The third sentencing rule is an independent clause followed by a semicolon, and then you add a conjunctive adverb. Some examples of a conjunctive adverbadverbs are: however, nevertheless, meanwhile, otherwise, moreover, furthermore, thus, consequently, and, therefore. After you add the conjunctive adverb, you must add a comma and another independent clause. Last you addending with a period. The fourth sentencing rule is addingto add an independent clause followed by a comma, and then you add a coordinating conjunction. These are but(but, or, yet, for, and, nor, and soor so). Once you add one of those words, add another independent clause and finish it with a period.
