Captions on photographs are worstworse than captions because the viewer can imagine what is happening. Even though, with captions, the photograph may show what the photographer wanted to capture, no captions help your mind make things up for what it might be trying to capture. In the text, it says this., “If photography is art, and art is self-sufficient, then photographs should stand alone and communicate their meaning through the image, not its description.” I chose this evidence because it shows that art should stand alone and communicate their own meaning behind the photograph, so that they may get closer to the painting. In the text, it also says “She was compulsive about finding images that spoke sharply, clearly, and with purely visual power.” I chose this evidence because it says that she took pictures that were clear and visual, this means that you don’t need captions. I believe thathaving no captions areis better than withhaving captions.
