The democratic style instead has a positive effect on individual and group behaviour. The democratic leader offers advice, help, and control, but also encourages the sharing of new ideas and solutions.

Employees are committed to projects and more carecare more about the end results. They feel valued and happy.

But the democratic style has some negative effects too.

A good leader needs to be sure that team members are experienced and well prepared. Sometimes, employees may not have the necessary knowledge or skills to make the right decision. In situations where roles are unclear or people work under pressure, a democratic leadership style can generate chaos, communication failures, and in result in uncompleted projects. In that case, democratic leadership leads to team members feeling frustrated, it lowers morale and job satisfaction.
