There are many ways you can identity thethat the student requireshas additional needs. It could be that a child has a disability or impairment identified from birth or not long after birth. The child acquires a disability from an illness or an accident or even when parents rise the concernraise concerns or professionals identify the concerns about the child. The child could even present with a developmental delay, atypical or challenging behaviours., be Studenta student with a language other than English or even a student who havehas suffered trauma or froma serious illness.
All of these can be identified by observation of the student’s behaviour. The Studentstudent can also be assessed formally or informally to determine their current knowledge, skills, and attitudes towards learning. We can also talk to the student and ask questions to find out where they are at or even test the studentstudent's ability.
