The main idea of this lecture is about of how people thatwho “love animals” consume products of animals which suffered in order for them to eat.
The author’s position is to be vegetarian in order to reduce the massive consuming of animals, which provokes the slaughter problems that farm animals face, he. He also points out that less than 1 per cent of the farms aren’t factories, meaning that a few ones really care about the wellbeing ifof the animals, stating that even those have to push them in order to sell.
Another person who’swhose opinion was stated was Jeremy Bentham, who gainsaygainsays the author’s statement by stating:, he “ thought that meat-eating was ethical because animals would suffer a worse fate in the wild,” which makes the author to realize that nature doesn’t give animals a purpose because itstheir only way to live is to find food, reproduce and die, but also states that humans consider essential the fact that all of us have a purpose to serve, which conflicts by accepting that animals only serve us for our food.
The author acknowledges that its mere fantasy that there’s going to be a world without death and suffering, but the main point its’is not that,; the main point is that he hates that animals doesn’tdon't serve a purpose and that the production of food requires a lot of land and food, which makes it an inefficient way to raise them.
