I write to appeal for a resit of CSCM 12J as I believe the result is not a true reflection of myself, and the situation surrounding the resit hindered my performance. Rejecting this could hinder/discourage a prospective scholar like me from showing his true attributes and worth.
As of February, when I resumed, I was approximately two months late into my studies due to the late visa approval and the death of one of my aunts dear to me. As a result, I became mentally unstable, adding to the fact that I had several course works, labs, assignments and notes to
meetcatch up with. Another disturbing issue was the inability to get my initial 50% school fee payment to school from my local bank due to foreign currency scarcity in Nigeria. This also hadtook a severe toll on me and made me withdraw for another two weeks. This payment complexity from my local bank in Nigeria made me source the fees internationally at an exorbitant price, which made me extremely stressed. These instabilities atover that period gave me numerous headaches (migraines) and caused me difficulties concentrating in class. I had to visit my GP for diagnosis and assistance on several occasions. Finally, on the 30th of March 2022, I was diagnosed and given a report showing that I was suffering from stress and anxiety and askedwas told to rest and stop thinking about my predicaments, as it iswas affecting my mental health. Nevertheless, I tried putting instill tried my best during mythe first semester exams, but the mental instability, fee remittance chasing, and numerous missed lectures hadgot the better part of me, impacting my resultresults negatively.
