Why Statement

I am going to be a physical therapist because I believe in helping people. I find the human body to be incredible to study and learn, especially about how to heal it. When individuals have injuries, they need help to maintain normal, human, physical function of that injury site. The healing process of the human body and its capabilities are astounding if there is guidance to that process. I want to aid those individuals who have sustained trauma to their body so that they can live a normal, healthy life, and because helping people gives me the satisfaction of knowing that I made even the smallest part, or moment, of their life better.
I am going to be a physical therapist to help people by being in the present moment when I am with the patients, listening to how they feel, and tailoring their programs to fit their specific needs and combine that with the information I continuously obtain in regards to how to treat individuals. I will speak with, monitor, and constructively critique my injured patients so they continue to improve. As equally important, I will continue to keep up with research to know that I am persistent in treating individuals with the best and most effective methods of prescription.
