These acts of appropriation suggest that someone is less than a typical “normal” human being. They suggest that the person has no feelings. Meaning that they don’t care what a coloredblack person feels like forwhen being called a “negro”“negro.” Or what a handicapped person feels like for being called a “cripple.”. They view the person as incapable to completeof completing tasks or holdholding a conversation, or unable to hold down a job as well as a “normal” person. They don’t take into consideration the feelings of the people that are being labeled with these names. They think theythat they are higher and mightier than someone with a label stamped onto them. The language that we portray ontoto the outside world makes it easier for people to have foolish thoughts, to look down on someone, who inside, is just the same as a typicalany other person.
