Abstract
The present research aims to evaluate the causal relationship between local government performance on the promotion of villagers' social capital of villagers and their participation in the rural sustainable development process, with the mediating role of perceived environmental, ecological, physical, and economic and sociocultural effects of the implementation of plans and projects by villagers in suburban villages of Tehran. While inIn the traditional view of management, economic, physical and human capital plays the most important role in the development planning process. However, infrom a new management perspective aimed at improving the dimensions of sustainable development;, societies need to promote social capital more than the economic, physical and human capital, as without the improvement of social capital, the use of other capital cannot beis not optimally possible.
