Space invasions’ artworks define space as it becomes part of the artwork- exposing deeper meaning and perspectives. AIn a comparison between three contemporary installation artists: David Altemjd creating – The Center (2008)(figure 3), Damien Hirst creating – Mother and child (1993) )(figure 2) and Sudarshan Shetty creating – Untitled (2008)(figure 1), all heavily rely on space and perspective to further define the meaning behind their subject (greatly varying between the pieces). Each artist is seen to have been heavily influenced by their upbringing and interests, andwhich is evident in their: subject matter, themethemes, and chosen symbolsymbols. The similarity between the three pieces’ anatomical exposures has inspired my artworksartwork; thus, this scope of research will enable me to explore the presentation of perspective, while using space. I explore the hidden parts of the human body, while revealing the unknown that is ultimately presented through a range of perspectives in space. The scope of my research is heavily reliant on magazines, contemporary art books like 100 contemporary artists, Vitamin 3-D: New perspectives in Sculpture and Installation, artist-specific Press-Kits, and online websites.
